As a senior researcher, Kait contributes to science and environmental research, writing, and deliverable development.
Kait’s research background has broadly been in plant-insect interactions with an emphasis on the incorporation of insect tolerant plants into agriculture to reduce grower reliance on insecticides. She received a B.S. in insect science (2014) and is currently pursuing her Ph.D. in entomology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. When not in the research lab, Kait has devoted time to teaching and developing science literacy and informal outreach programs that communicate complex scientific topics to diverse audiences.
When she finds the time, Kait likes to explore Nebraska’s parks, cultivate plants, and paint. She especially loves spending time at home with her husband and young son.
