Simanti Banerjee
Senior Researcher
Simanti Banerjee joins Carson+Co Global as a senior researcher where she lends her economics expertise to projects focused on environmental sustainability issues with attention to human behavior and decision-making.
Simanti is an internationally recognized economist and has worked on issues in the environmental and sustainability domain in the U.S and U.K. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she divides her time between research and teaching. She serves on the advisory board of the IANR Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belongingness committee at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and also leads similar initiatives as part of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association, the flagship association of agricultural economists in the United States.
Simanti is originally from the Eastern Indian metropolis of Kolkata (population ~13 million) and currently makes St. Louis her home where she lives with her twins (born August 2019) and husband. Together they love to travel, and she hopes that one day soon the whole family will be able to travel to India and other places.
